Morgan Plus 8 Speedster celebrates 100 years of Morgan car production. Costs £69,995.
Fri, 18 Apr 2014The Morgan Plus 8 Speedster (pictured) celebrates 100 years Morgans may still look like Morgans did half a century and more ago, but under the skin lies a car capable of holding its own (most of the time) with cars from the modern er. And none more so than the Plus 8. Now, to celebrate 100 years of building cars at their Pickersleigh Road factory in Malvern, worcestershire, Morgan has revealed a limited edition (although such is Morgan’s production numbers you could reasonably consider every Morgan a limited edition) of the Plus 8 – the Morgan Plus 8 Speedster.
Audi recruits German and Mexican students to design A0 monocycle
Tue, 16 Aug 2011Audi has teamed up with German and Mexican engineering and design students for a project that has resulted in the A0 electric monocycle. Resembling a seated Segway with a hubless wheel, information about this project follows hot on the heels of the Urban Concept, and suggests Audi following the lead of BMW in seriously looking at new ways of improving mobility in cities. The project, conducted by the Technical University of Munich and National Autonomous University of Mexico, was sponsored by the Audi Design Research Center Munich, and conducted under the supervision of Klemens Rossnagel, Head of Audi Design Research Center.
Ford drives the Peel P50 in to the new Transit – and turns it around
Tue, 06 May 2014The Peel P50 drives in to the new Ford Transit The new Ford Transit offers lots of room for ‘Stuff’, something Ford decided to demonstrate by enlisting the world’s smallest car to demonstrate. It may be simply a take on Jeremy Clarkson’s games with the Peel in and around the BBC Television Centre – and you don’t get John Humphries driving the Peel or Fiona Bruce (and her bottom) pushing it back out – but you do get a good idea of just how big the new Transit is. We’re not entirely sure that turning the Peel around in the Transit – and yes, this Peel is fitted with a reverse gear, unlike Clarkson’s – demonstrates the Transit is any bigger than just driving in and driving out would, but the endless faffing to achieve an about turn is an excuse to use some Benny Hill-esque music to pass the time.
