Former Ford exec Theodore shows off lighter chassis at SAE

Automakers are facing tougher government regulations for fuel economy, and one former Ford and Chrysler executive says he has a solution Chris Theodore, best known for his work on the Ford GT and Dodge Viper, has designed a vehicle chassis that he says will provide automakers with weight savings, cut manufacturing costs and make electric vehicles more economically viable. Theodore is showcasing his proof-of-concept Uni-Chassis at the SAE World Congress this week. It uses the powertrain and suspension of the GT, under an agreement with Ford.

Jaguar Land Rover will officially debut the Jaguar F-Type and 2013 Range Rover at Paris 2012 on Thursday – LIVE on Cars UK. We’ve already had the official reveal of the 2013 Range Rover, and the new Jaguar F-Type slipped out last week too, quickly followed by a single official photo from Jaguar. But the public debut for the two new Jaguar Land Rover models is the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show which opens to the public this weekend.

The new 2015 Hyundai i20 revealed The Hyundai i20 is a decent, if slightly uninspiring, car, but it has shown Hyundai know how to put a car together to target a market dominated by the Ford Fiesta, and the new i20 – which will be revealed at the Paris Motor Show in October – should see the i20 edging closer to the Fiesta in appeal. Now, following a tease reveal of the new Hyundai i20 using design sketches last week, we get the reveal of the all new, second generation i20 ahead of its public debut. Using Hyundai’s ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0′ design language, the new i20 gets looks that are clearly inspired by the new i10 for a more modern look, with a new take on the Hyundai grill and black-c-pillars for a floating roof, making the new i20 look more contemporary, if a little bland.
