Jaguar XK facelift (2011) first official pictures

Jaguar has announced 2012 revisions to the XK coupe and convertible - chiefly concerned with bringing it into line with the XKR-S. 2012 Jaguar XK: the lowdown Changes on the XK are more subtle than the refreshed 2011 Jaguar XF, and share some elements with the range-topping XKR-S which was unveiled at the 2011 Geneva motor show. Toyota eyes turbos, direct injection

Toyota Motor Corp. plans to introduce 11 new or redesigned hybrid vehicles by 2012, but the carmaker is hardly neglecting the humble internal combustion engine. Takeshi Uchiyamada, executive vice president in charge of r&d, also wants to increase the fleet's fuel efficiency by putting turbochargers and direct fuel injection in smaller vehicles.

Umea University students complete Saab collaboration project

A selection of first-year students from Sweden's Umea University have completed a 10-week collaborative design project with Saab. Tasked with exploring new directions for the brand, students were encouraged to investigate the interplay of brand and identity. Each of them was assigned a non-automotive brand to reflect on parallels that could be established between that brand and Saab, whilst also capturing the essence of the Swedish carmaker through their project's concept, its proportions, surface language, details, graphics, functionality and material choices.
