Big Block Chevy Mercruiser 502 Mag MPI tunnel ram EFI intake manifold and throttle body

This is a used Mercruiser cross ram intake manifold used on the 415 hp 502 Magnum MPI sterndrive and inboard marine engines.  It will accommodate a map sensor, fuel injectors and idle control.  The dual throttle body is included as shown.

This would make a great replacement in a marine application or a very unique high performance intake for a EFI BBC street rod or race car.  Because of the way the top plenum seals onto the tunnel ram runners these intakes work very well with superchargers or even turbo chargers.  I have a Vortech M3 system for this intake that includes intercooler, pulleys, mounts, M3 centrifugal blower, etc.  If someone is interested in that i will put it up for auction after the intake is sold.

This is sold as is with everything shown in the pictures.  With bad electrolysis and in salt water applications these manifolds are known for developing severe corrosion around the integrated brass/bronze water crossover.  This intake is NOT severe like some get but there is a small amount of corrosion on the lower corner of the even bank side.  I took a picture to show that corrosion seen in the upper right around the water port.  I also took a picture of the odd bank side showing it is near perfect.  The throttle linkage is included as shown but one of the throttle plates on the throttle body is stuck and needs to be freed up.

Toyota Hydrogen Fuel Cell breakthrough to be announced at Frankfurt Motor Show

Mon, 02 Sep 2013

Toyota Hydrogen Fuel Cell breakthrough to be announced at Frankfurt Motor Show Regardless of whether you think the electric car is potentially a planet saviour or not, the idea of powering cars with hydrogen is a powerful one; the holy grail of automotive powertrains. Technically, ICE cars can be built to run using hydrogen (and a retro-fit allowing that to be achieved economically would be a huge breakthrough) but car makers are heading down the road of electric cars being powered by a hydrogen fuel cell at the moment. In Toyota’s case, that means a setup similar to their hybrid cars, with a hydrogen fuel cell replacing the petrol engine.

Emissions crackdown confirmed

Sun, 03 Jun 2007

By Tim Pollard Motoring Issues 03 June 2007 02:32 The European Commission today confirmed plans to force car makers to cut tailpipe emissions by 18 percent over the next five years. As exclusively predicted by CAR Online last month, the EC is proposing an average CO2 limit of 130g/km by 2012 - down from an average of 162g/km last year. Manufacturers missing the new target would be fined heavily.

-- Out of all the viral social media trends that 24-hour news agencies love to fret over, easily the best is #burnoutnomination -- where you do a burnout and tag an unwitting victim, whereupon they have to perform it in 24 hours or face copious shame and embarrassment. Porsche racer and director Jeff Zwart was recently tasked with burnout duty. Never one to shy away from The Awesome, he recorded a fantastic burnout in his Porsche 914/6.
