Honda Boosts Civic Tourer Appeal
Tue, 11 Feb 2014HONDA’S new Civic Tourer’s arrival in the showrooms is just around the corner, and already the Japanese car maker is making its compact family wagon more affordable. Prospective buyers are to be tempted by a range of attractive finance offers – including low monthly payments and zero percent APR – and Honda’s new optional fixed-price five-year aftercare package. In addition to the competitive monthly payment plans, Honda’s new fixed-price comprehensive aftercare package includes five years’ servicing, five years’ warranty and five years’ roadside assist.
Tesla Roadster Sport announced
Sun, 11 Jan 2009The Tesla Roadster Sport will be available from the summer, for around €112K, and claims a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds, a 0.2 improvement on the existing Tesla Roadster. The extra power comes from fiddling with the stator in the motor and an increased winding density for less resistance (I’m sure that must make sense if you understand Electric Motors – I’m still stuck on the internal combustion engine – must keep up!). The Tesla Roadster Sport also gets Yokohama Ultra High Performance tyres and some suspension tweaks.
Middlecott Sketchbattle Experiment crowns first Sketchmaster
Tue, 28 Jan 2014College for Creative Studies (CCS) student Graham Wright has fought off competition from artists, illustrators, industrial, product and car designers to be declared the Sketchmaster of the Middlecott Sketchbattle Experiment 2014. Held at Detroit's Kunsthalle Museum of Contemporary Art, the contest – a self-styled fight club of design – carried the theme of lighting because of the museum's many neon and lighting installations. Before the event, design students from the area – mostly from the CCS and Lawrence Technological University (LTU) – were invited to submit early sketches before a shortlist was drawn up for the main event.
