Jaguar XF Sportbrake gets matching Jaguar Speedboat

Jaguar has revealed a Speedboat Concept at the first XF Sportbrake driving events to show how Jaguar design translates in other products. Before you get too excited, the Jaguar Speedboat isn’t a new item on the XF Sportbrake’s option list, but an exercise in translating Jaguar’s design philosophy in to an alternative product; one that fits seamlessly with Jaguar’s ‘Lifestyle’ pitch for the XF Sportbrake. Honda & GM to work together on next generation Hydrogen Fuel Cells

GM’s history with hydrogen fuel cell development Hydrogen Fuel Cells are, in many ways, the answer to our dependency on oil. But any future that uses hydrogen fuel cells to power an electric motor in a car means that not only must the fuel cells be more economical to produce than they now are, but that a refuelling infrastructure is developed. To help achieve that end, Honda and GM have announced that they are to collaborate on developing not just the next generation fuel cells for vehicles but to advance a refuelling structure too.

Nissan’s new lightweight philosophy revealed

The leaked official drawings of the new Nissan Micra might have revealed the conventional styling of the company’s new supermini, but they gave little clue to the dramatically lightweight new platform that underpins it. The new Micra will be significantly lighter and more fuel efficient than the outgoing car due to a ruthless pursuit of weight reduction on the new V-platform (V = versatile), which on average has slashed 50kg from the new car's weight, and up to 70kg on some models. Project leader Noritaka Tsuru described the new package as a 'breakthrough car' that required a complete 'change in mentality' in how Nissan makes cars.
