One Lap of the Web: Porsche at Le Mans, F-150 reclaims the flag and Foose talks classic rods

We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about. -- We covered the 24 Hours of Le Mans top to bottom including every make and class, but if your preferred marque is Porsche you might enjoy the Porsche Purist's look at how cars from Stuttgart fared during the endurance classic, complete with photos, stats and results.

This year's Car Design News and General Motors Interactive Design Competition is now up and running. Simply choose one of the five briefs set by GM's designers and submit your entry on the competition website, http://www.cardesigncontest.com/ If you think you could design a 6-8-seat vehicle that promotes togetherness, then the brief set by Buick could be the one for you. It asks you to come up with a cutting edge, unique and innovative vehicle that embodies your vision of a modern Buick.

Bentley designers talk 'Intelligent Details' in movie shot on iPhone

Bentley has released a short documentary featuring director of design, Luc Donckerwolke, and SangYup Lee, its new head of exterior design, taking a ride around New York City in the back of a pair of Mulsannes. Called 'Intelligent Details,' the film sees Donckerwolke and Lee talking about how one of the challenges of designing a successful Bentley interior is to match the car's performance with the expectation of its integrated technology. And to make sure you get the message loud and clear, not only does the video show the Mulsanne's optional smartly integrated iPads, which emerge from the front seat backs at the touch of a button, the whole movie itself was shot on an iPhone 5S (albeit 'enhanced' by some extremely expensive-looking lenses and rigs), then cut together on one of the car's in-built tablets.
