Chevrolet Volt MPV5 surfaces
Fri, 23 Apr 2010GM revealed the Chevrolet Volt MPV5 Concept at Beijing We’re all busy waiting for the Chevy Volt / Opel Ampera / Vauxhall Ampera to turn in to reality. Despite that, GM has today rolled out an MPV / Crossover version of the Volt at Beijing – The Chevrolet Volt MPV5 Electric Concept. According to GM the Chevrolet Volt MPV5 is amongst the most aerodynamic of crossovers, thanks to its closed grill, lower air dam and a full underbody belly pan.
Bentley SUV (Falcon) to be built in Slovakia?
Wed, 20 Mar 2013Bentley says it has 2000 pre-orders for the Bentley Falcon SUV and that it is possible the Bentley won’t be built in Crewe but in Bratislava. January’s news was that the Bentley SUV was close to being signed-off for production (we’ve heard that once or twice) and in February we learnt that Bentley have gone back to the drawing board to produce a new design under the watchful eye of Luc Donckerwolke, Bentley’s Chief Designer, which we expect to be a more dynamic one with cues from the Continental, rather than a square truck with Mulsanne headlights. So now it’s time for the March instalment of ‘Bentley SUV News‘, and we have Bentley boss Wolfgang Schreiber telling us that Bentley already has 2,000 pre-orders for their SUV (we’re guessing ‘expressions of interest’ may be closer to the truth) before the new design is shown, and before Bentley has decided whether they want to pitch their SUV just above the new Range Rover at around £150k, or do what Bentley dealers want which is a Bentley SUV costing north of £200k.
EBay exotic: 1974 Alfa Romeo Berlina 2000
Mon, 11 Jul 2011I'm a sucker for a four-door Alfa, and this bright red Berlina 2000 posted by our friends at Bring a Trailer has yours truly all aflutter this morning. Formerly owned by an Alfa Romeo employee in the United States, this car shows just a tick less than 89,000 original miles and wears fresh paint as of a few years ago. The seller, himself an Alfisti, claims that the gauges and mechanicals are all in correct working order, and the original factory air conditioning apparently operates as well as it did when new--which likely isn't very well, but still, it makes an interesting conversation piece.
