It’s Top Gear Ashes time, with the boys attempting to heap more humiliation on the Land Down Under. They take up a challenge from the Australian Top Gear presenters in a car-based version of the Ashes.

Merc has responded - and today presents the new estate. It’ll be shown in the metal at September’s Frankfurt Motor Show and then go on sale in the UK in summer 2008.

But what we also get from Mercedes is confirmation that the AMG GT will be revealed, ahead of its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in October, on 9 September. So we shouldn’t have too many more teases to come.
