Though deck plates are no new invention, Beckson was the first to conquer all three safety features. First, a cover that would not open unexpectedly. Second, maximum water tightness. Third, prevent jamming closed or cross- threading that would prevent a cover from being closed.
The Beckson Screw-Out Plate was designed to provide access without the use of tools, with a single start, non-jamming (no cross-thread), extra strong, self-cleaning buttress thread. They incorporate a self-aligning center and an innovative gasket to assure a watertight seal. A unique back-up sealing wall leaves the plate water resistant, even if the gasket is removed.
A screw-out plate should be used in compartments where a change in air pressure due to temperature or oil canning can occur. Deck plates also are used for access, inspection, and clean out for tanks and compartments, or just as a general access for shut-off valves or back- fastenings. Our clear center plates permit observation of controls or gauges and visual inspection without the necessity of removing the plate.

Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible ISR goes to Halfords
Back in February, before the Geneva Motor Show, we got a tip that Bentley were going to build a limited edition Supersports Convertible to celebrate the World Ice Speed Record, set in a Bentley Supersports Convertible by Juha Kankkunen on frozen seas in Finland. The heads-up we got what pretty much on the money. But we were told that the exterior of the ISR would get red highlights to make it look a bit ‘racy’.

Bentley will expand the Mulsanne lineup with a glitzy convertible version, previewed by a concept that debuted at Pebble Beach. The British droptop would likely share mechanical pieces with the coupe, meaning a twin-turbo 6.75-liter V8 making 505 hp and 752 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic and rear-wheel chassis. Technical specifications were not confirmed.

Noble Automotive has released an image of a convertible M600, but has no plans to produce it at present. The Noble M600 is an impressive supercar from one of the UK’s most interesting ‘Garden Shed’ supercar builders, even if it’s gestation period seems to have been ten times that of an elephant. The M600 ‘arrived’ in 2009 ready to rock and roll, or so we thought, but then seemed to disappear again.
