Bell - K.1 Sport SA2010 Racing Helmet
Fly Racing

The K.1 Sport is a multi-use, full featured helmet with aero styling and Bell's innovative Dominator chin bar design.

The K.1's aero features enhance the helmet's aerodynamic stability in high-speed racing environments. The Snell SA2010 rated K.1 Sport is a great helmet for open wheel racers and kart racers who plan on moving into other forms of racing that require fire retardant interiors.

The Bell K.1 Sport Helmet carries the Snell SA2010 rating which certifies it for use in competitive racing until the end of the year 2020.

The K.1 Sport features a lightweight composite shell, comfortable interior fit and maximum ventilation with full chin bar, forehead and top vents. The K.1 Sport takes a 276 SRV Shield and each helmet comes with a clear shield and Bell visor strip as standard equipment.

The K.1 Sport also features Bell's redesigned face piece with recessed areas that allow for seamless radio integration and easy installation. Racers can also customize the fit of the K.1 Sport by using Bell's Cheek Pad Inserts in 5mm, 10mm, 15mm and 20mm sizes to tighten the fit in the cheek area. The helmet is available in a Rubberized Matte Black finish - the rubberized surface is more resistant to finger prints and smudges than traditional flat finishes. The K.1 is pre-drilled for use with head and neck restraint devices.

The rating refers to the standard date the helmet adheres to. The ones you are likely see are SA2005, SA2010, and SA2015. Every 5 years, Snell releases a new standard which is a new series of tests the helmets must pass in order to receive the new rating. The rating a helmet receives generally means it's legal for use in most event types for 10 years from the rating:

    • SA2005 - Good until 2015
    • SA2010 - Good until 2020
This helmet carries the Snell SA2010 rating which is approved for use until the end of the year 2020.

    Bell Helmet Sizing

Proper helmet fit is vital to the performance of a helmet during an impact.
For the helmet to perform properly during an impact, it must stay securely on the head.

Measuring the head is only a starting point for the entire sizing procedure.
Due to varying shapes, heads that are apparently the same size when measured may not necessarily fit the same size helmet.

A small metal tape measure or a cloth tape may be used to make your initial measurement. You can also use a string, which can then be laid against a measuring tape.

Measure the head from a point one inch above the eyebrows and around the back of the head that results in the largest possible measurement.

Take several measurements. The largest measurement is the one you want to use.

    Thu, 26 Jul 2007

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 26 July 2007 04:57 A Porsche hybrid? That's right, and CAR Online has just returned from a visit to Weissach - Porsche's R&D HQ near Stuttgart - where we were given the full lowdown on the Cayenne Hybrid. Porsche's hand has been forced by the current public and political climate surrounding CO2 and global warming - and the company has taken the unusual step of showing its prototypes even though they're a few years from production.

Aston Martin V8 Vantage pricing announced

    Tue, 10 Apr 2012

A couple of months ago, we noted that Aston Martin had upgraded the V8 Vantage for 2012. After all, even the entry-level sybarite doesn't want to feel abandoned by the luxe maestros in Gaydon, and Gaydon doesn't want them to feel slighted. We previously mentioned the upgraded self-shifting transmission, which receives a seventh gear, as well as the quicker steering ported over from the Vantage S.

Hyundai & Kia get Google Maps integration – but not in UK

    Sun, 06 Jan 2013

Hyundai and Kia are adding Google Maps functionality to their SatNav Systems in the US, but it’s not coming to the UK any time soon. In the US, Hyundai has a clever system called Blue Link (Kia has a similar system called UVO) that offers increased functionality for stuff like the SatNav, Remote Access, Location Sharing and Enhanced Recovery. It costs a few hundred dollars a year (for the all-singing, all-dancing version), but makes your Hyundai much smarter than the average bear.
