Drivers fail car insurance test

On a 10-question, multiple-choice test asking respondents to choose correct definitions for basic auto insurance terms, the average score was 32 percent out of a possible 100 percent, according to insurance.com. The test group included 500 drivers of all ages and from various regions of the United States, but apparently no matter what the details, nobody really knows much about car insurance. When broken down into demographic segments, women outscored men by about 8 percentage points on average, and drivers in the south beat out those in the northeast by 10 percentage points.

Marin Sonoma Concours d'Elegance to feature French classics

The Marin Sonoma Concours d'Elegance will bring a selection of coachbuilt French cars to the Marin Civic Center in San Rafael, Calif., on May 20. The concours will also celebrate Italian automobile designs from 1946 to 1975 and the 75th anniversary of the demise of Cord. U.S. Transportation Department opens probe of 2010 Toyota Prius brakes

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Thursday that it is opening a formal investigation of the 2010 Toyota Prius Hybrid to determine whether the vehicle suffers momentary loss of braking capability while traveling over bumpy surfaces. NHTSA, an agency that is part of the U.S. Department of Transportation, has received 124 consumer complaints, including four reports of crashes.
