Club members get first choice for collector's-edition Fiat 500

Attendees of this year's Club Fiat-Lancia Unlimited national convention--also known as the "Fiat Freak Out"--were rewarded for their devotion to the Italian automaker. Councils make £594m from parking

RECORD SURPLUSES from parking revenues have been achieved by councils, according to the RAC Foundation. In 2012/13 councils in England generated a combined "profit" of £594 million from their on and off-street parking operations, the foundation said. This was a 5% increase on the figure of £565 million for 2011/12, and just 52 of the 353 parking authorities in England reported a deficit in 2012/13.

NHTSA investigates Volkswagen Jetta diesel for fuel leak

The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration opened a preliminary investigation on Aug. 2 into 40,000 copies of the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. NHTSA received seven complaints stemming from leaks between the fuel line and the fuel injectors.
