But that hasn’t stopped them reviving the moniker and attaching it to a new concept heading to Frankfurt – the electric Audi A2 Concept. Audi say the A2 concept has an electric-only powertrain, which sadly means they are not pursuing the elegant range-extender solution with a Wankel engine they showed in the A1 e-Tron at Geneva last year.

Vauxhall Astra GTC - the 3 door Astra will be revealed in June Actually, we’re not sure we should really have called this a reveal of the new Vauxhall Astra GTC. It’s more the reveal of the production version of the GTC Concept we already saw at the Paris Motor Show last year. Surprisingly, the Astra GTC manages to hang on to quite a bit of the style of the GTC Concept, such as the blistered wheel arches and the deep grill, although the usual conpcety stuff – like oversized alloys – have had to bite the dust.

Nissan plans to build the Infiniti JX in Tennessee

Nissan Motor Co.'s assembly plant in Smyrna, Tenn., will build the new seven-passenger Infiniti JX crossover next year, the chairman of Nissan Americas said Wednesday. The move is part of Carlos Tavares' mission of getting Nissan and Infiniti products out of yen and into dollars, but that will require the automaker to move some products around. Tavares also wants to buy more parts from North American suppliers.
