STI Billet Compressor 500 WHP BB Turbocharger with Billet Wastegate Actuator

If you need a premium-quality bolt-on high horsepower turbocharger for your Scubie look no further. This is not only capable of delivering over 500 horsepower but also features a SERVICEABLE ball-bearing center cartridge as well as a billet forged compressor wheel. Looks stock but makes twice the factory power! No need for custom flanges and downpipes with this turbo. Treat it like a factory replacement in mounting it up. Just be sure to supply the right amount of fuel to match the airflow, and fit a strong clutch. This turbo makes POWER and your boxer will produce obscene amounts of TORQUE. Definitely a good problem to have.

This turbocharger is a proprietary design with a high-flow compressor housing specially machined for a custom engineered forged wheel to support ultra-high airflow rates at high pressure rates. Currently being used by a top-notch time-attack team to deliver more than 450hp to all wheels. This was done at only 21psi, whereas the previous turbo had to spin up to 24psi and still had trouble producing 430awhp. What this means is not only will you make killer power at near stock boost levels, but at upwards of 25 psi this turbo still has more to give. Much more. That is the magic of a ceramic ball bearing supported turbine shaft that has been precision cast and machined to flow obscene amounts of exhaust gasses. What can this turbo handle when pushed?  The boost capacity of this turbocharger is beyond 30 psi! This is complemented by a state-of-the-art 11 blade forged billet aluminum compressor wheel. The secret is out about the advantage billet wheels have over cast compressor wheels. They not only can be made thinner and therefore lighter, but are much stronger and hold their shape even with extreme boost pressure loads. This particular compressor wheel also has an extended-tip blade form. The increase in swept area accounts for a 10% - 15% improvement in airflow without the negative effects of added inertia from a full-circumference blade form. This critical reduction in inertia is key to this turbocharger's lightning-fast boost response an incredible performance. Another bonus is that this turbo has a ceramic ball bearing cartridge that can actually be serviced, unlike most Garrett based turbos. The turbine shaft is made from high-grade Inconel alloy that has been precision ground for a perfect fit in the ball bearings. Complementing the Inconel turbine shaft is a cast Stainless Steel exhaust housing. Absolutely the best material to use for this turbo because of its durability under thermal stress and dimensional stability for leak-resistant sealing. These turbos are packed with all of the best materials, the latest technologies, and within the same outline as the factory turbocharger. A true wolf in sheep's clothing for your boxer. May even fool the prying eyes of the curious onlookers.  At least until she spools up and flat boogies away!

Since this is an internally wastegated turbocharger, we have supplied it with an upgraded billet wastegate actuator by Turbosmart. We felt compelled to provide this level of precise boost control to complement the astounding performance of this upgrade turbocharger. Both of the housings are ported to further broaden the performance envelope, and we polish the compressor housing for a nice finish in the engine bay. You get the ultimate in efficiency and capability, exhibited in an elegant manner. Offered by Exclusive Turbosystems for the discerning Subaru enthusiast, there are no equals to this turbocharger upgrade package. These are setup to be the BEST bolt-on Subaru upgrade turbochargers you will find. A true bolt-on upgrade with factory exhaust bolt patterns and hose connections. Incredible precision machining precision of each housing, turbine wheel, and compressor wheel. Phenomenal package!

China’s Geely to bring Emgrand range to UK in 2013

Sat, 20 Aug 2011

Geely are planning to bring their Emgrand range to the UK We didn’t think Geely would venture to the West with any of their own brand cars, expecially as Geely is doing very well with its Swedish purchase – Volvo. But it seems that Geely is planning on bringing their cars – certainly the ‘Premium’ Emgrand range – to the UK by 2013. Regular readers may remember the Rolls Royce Phantom ‘Homage’ built by Geely and, more recently and more convincingly, their take on the MINI and the London Taxi.

Volvo Estate Concept (2014) first official pictures

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 27 February 2014 11:00 This is the Volvo Concept Estate, which will be shown at the 2014 Geneva motor show. It’s a true three-door shooting brake wagon: Volvo claims it points strongly toward the future design of its V70 and XC70 estate models. Rather than going down the swooping roofline/thick pillars route for his shooting brake design, Volvo’s new design boss Thomas Ingenlath was inspired by the P1800 ES of the 1970s.

De Tomaso SLC: De Tomaso back with SUV Concept

Thu, 10 Feb 2011

De Tomaso SLC SUV Concept We’ve covered some of the trials and tribulations of De Tomaso in the last couple of years, with the assets of the once-successful maker of Italian-style cars with a New World heart languished rusting and unwanted in Italy. But there were no takers; no one willing to breath life back in to a once successful marque. But finally – in November 2009 – a white knight in the form of octegenarian and former Fiat Exec Gian Mario Rossignolo rode in to the fray, and plucked De Tomaso from the oblivion of the history books.
