Mon, 17 Feb 2014The Land Rover Discovery XXV (pictured) celebrates 25 years of the Discovery The Land Rover Discovery was launched 25 years ago as a ‘Lifestyle’ Land Rover product complete with funky interior from Jasper Conran. And now, with the Discovery 4 nearing the end of its life, Land Rover is commemorating that anniversary with a special edition model – the Land Rover Discovery XXV Special Edition. The Discovery XXV is based on Land Rover’s top spec Disco – the HSE Luxury – and comes in a choice of four colours - Causeway Grey, Santorini Black, Fuji White and Indus Silver – with Narvik Black for the grill surround and door mirrors and Dark Atlas on the grill and vents.

When we reported prices and specs last week for the new Hyundai Veloster, we were suitably impressed at what was on offer, with one exception – the engine. We’d been hoping for a little more oomph from the successor to the very good Hyundai Coupe, and we were a little disappointed that the only engine on offer was a 138bhp diesel.

And of its sport derivative, the Land Rover DC100 Sport, too. But Land Rover made it clear that the DC100 is a work in progress, and that they were looking for feedback as the quest to replace the Defender with a 21st version gathers speed over the coming years.
