Hyundai Curb concept car (2011) at Detroit auto show
Mon, 10 Jan 2011It wasn't just about the Veloster hogging the limelight on Hyundai's stand at the 2011 Detroit auto show. The Curb concept car is a glimpse of a future rival to the Nissan Juke, and the Koreans even admitted it was a hint 'for the next generation of Hyundai buyers.' The new Curb is defiantly a concept car, but it also showcases Hyundai's Blue Link connectivity technology. Hyundai's Curb is the twelfth concept car to be designed at the company's Californian Design Center.
Drayson breaks electric land speed record - Video
Wed, 26 Jun 2013The Drayson Racing Technologies Lola B12/69 EV electric race car hit a top speed of 204.2 mph at a racetrack at RAF Elvington in Yorkshire, England, smashing the previous record of 175 mph set by Battery Box General Electric in 1974. Fittingly, Lord Paul Drayson was behind the wheel. In order to qualify for the attempt at the electric land speed record, the vehicle had to weigh less than 2,204 pounds (1,000 kg) without the driver.
1884 De Dion Runabout sells for $4.62 million at RM auction
Mon, 10 Oct 2011Two weeks ago we told you about one of the world's oldest running motor cars going up for auction in Hershey, Pa. That car, the 1884 De Dion Bouton Et Trepardoux Dos-A-Dos Steam Runabout, sold on Oct. 7 for more than double its estimated price--a cool $4.62 million.
