R-FIT

The R-Fit is an invaluable fuel controller especially applicable to turbo charged cars which have already been modified with raised boost pressure. More often than not is vital that cars with such modifications also have the fuelling altered to prevent detonation and potential engine damage, and the R-Fit makes this possible without the need for a full remapping of the car’s ECU.

The R-Fit has various different settings, which can be calibrated and used in accordance with the vehicle’s set up. Once different fuelling levels are matched to boost levels, changing between power modes is simple as the device has three programmable channels. The R-Fit will display in several styles and shows parameters such as airflow voltage, induction pressure and engine speed as well as the fuel control settings.

Set up is straightforward with an extremely useful automatic configuration according to car make and model. Fuel control calibration allows injector pulse width duration to be increased and decreased by up to 50%, with control points at every 100rpm. Settings can also be transferred from one R-Fit to another through the infra red port located on the side of the unit.

The R-Fit is a mirror image of the R-Vit diagnostic tool, and can take information from it, also through the infra-red port. Using the R-Vit in conjunction with the R-Fit makes getting accurate engine readouts to the fuel controller highly effective.

Skoda Superb Combi Outdoor with added Rufty-Tufty

Wed, 06 Jun 2012

The Skoda Superb Combi Outdoor is the Skoda take on the VW family ‘Allroad’, with a raised ride height and bolt-on plastic goodness. Even now, when Skoda has all but managed to shake off the mantle of Soviet Skip, the Superb Combi is still a much underrated car. The Superb Combi looks good, is well equipped and far more appealing than its (perfectly decent) hatch sibling.

Peugeot Onyx concept [w/Gallery]

Wed, 12 Sep 2012

Peugeot has previewed its Onyx concept, set to debut at this month's Paris motor show, just days after the first teaser images were released. Very much a supercar in terms of its proportions and form, the Onyx is not the first time Peugeot's previewed super and super-sports cars in concept form, but the Onyx looks a lot more promising than previous efforts, from these photos at least. Conforming to the modern, eco-conscious supercar norm, the Onyx features a hybrid drivetrain - following in the footsteps of the BMW i8, Honda NSX and Jaguar CX-75.  Peugeot's stated aim is to push itself upmarket and become a more premium brand, so the Onyx could be read as a sign that the company feels it needs more of a 'halo' car in order to achieve that aim.

Travis Pastrana spoofs his DC Shoes boss Ken Block in new video

Tue, 21 Jun 2011

We love a little friendly interteam rivalry--especially when it involves driver Travis Pastrana and his boss at DC Shoes, Ken Block. Gymkhana ace Block released a video in February featuring his new livery for the DC Shoes WRC Ford Fiesta and his 2011 schedule of events. The hard-rock-and-techno-scored video shows Block in race gear, with his car and a few femme fatales in black vinyl and other DC gear.
