Porsche 918 Spyder to get 4.6 litre V8
Sun, 08 Jan 2012Porsche 918 Spyder to get 4.6 litre V8 The Porsche 918 Spyder is to get a 4.6 litre V8 and lose one of its electric motors when it launches after a Frankfurt 2013 debut. It’s almost two years since the Porsche 918 Spyder debuted at the Geneva Motor show as a potential 21st century eco-replacement for the Carrera GT. But now the Range Rover Sport SVR has been officially revealed. Conceived and developed by Jaguar Land Rover’s new Special Operations Division, the Sport SVR has been honed at the Nurburgring (which won’t please James May) to take on monster on-road SUVs like the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and yet still offer most of the Land Rover off-road magic.
Which sounds better? Jaguar F-Type V8 or V6?

The latest Jaguar marketing magic comes courtesy of a short video with a pair of F-Types pulling away and accelerating hard; one a V6 supercharged and the other a V8 supercharged. We don’t know whether the V6 is the 340PS base F-Type or the 380PS F-Type S, but it makes a fine noise.
