BMW unveils its 2012 Olympic Games pavilion
Tue, 07 Feb 2012BMW has unveiled its new pavilion for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The winning design came from British architects Serie after bids from six companies. As the sole automotive sponsor, BMW is allowed to build a pavilion at the Olympic Park during the London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games and it expects to draw 8000 visitors a day.
Google Glasses driver has ticket torn up
Tue, 21 Jan 2014An American driver who was fined for driving while wearing Google Glasses has had the ticket torn up. Cecilia Abadie was stopped by police in California who said the Google Glass digital spectacles fell foul of laws banning drivers from watching TV when behind the wheel. Bentley 6¾ litre V8 to end production – Diesels & Hybrid on the way
Fri, 17 Aug 2012Bentley’s outgoing boss has revealed Bentley are planning to drop their trademark 6¾ litre V8 and introduce hybrid and diesel options. Bentley’s famed 6¾ litre V8 engine – in production since 1959, although it didn’t grow to 6¾ litre until 1970 - is as much a USP for Bentley as the badge and the history. BMW tried to bring production of the old iron lump to an end in 1998 – replacing it with a characterless BMW 4.4 litre V8 – but it was back a year later when VW took over as the motivation for the Red Label Arnage – and it’s stayed ever since.
