Great heavy black leather HARLEY DAVIDSON lined, zipper front motorcycle jacket, with large embossed design on back, size XL.  The waist has a belt (NOTE: belt is not original to jacket).  There is a collar and the front has a pair of zippered slanted pockets on lower front.  The ends of the collar snap down- the flap in front can be snapped backwards or be tucked inside.  The cuffs have 6 ½” zippers – when unzipped, there is still a piece of leather underneath.  At the back, there is a ‘pleat’ at the shoulders so you can comfortably stretch arms forward.  There is a large embossed design of an eagle with spread wings and words HARLEY DAVIDSON above it.  Below it, there is a banner and shield with EST. 1903 on the ends and AUTHENTIC RIDING APPAREL and USA in the center.  The leather is thick, soft and heavy with a pebbled texture.  Inside,  the lining is quilted in a diamond shape and the left inside has a leather trimmed snap closure pocket.  Very rarely worn, it’s in wonderful condition and from smoke free home.  Measurements when laid flat are:

Armpit to armpit:  26”

Neck seam to shoulder seam:  7”

Shoulder seam to cuff:  27 ½”

Tesla ‘drops’ entry-level Model S. But was it ever going to be available?

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

The 40kWh version of the Tesla Model S is being dropped by Tesla in the US, but we do wonder if Tesla ever had any intention of delivering it in the first place. Tesla’s big claim ahead of the arrival of the, very impressive, Model S – and a seemingly vital part of the US taxpayer funding Tesla to develop the Model S – was that they would deliver a car that cost under $50k, something the car industry thought impossible. But when the Model S was launched, Tesla did indeed have an entry-level model available with a 4okWh battery that was listed at $58,750 (taking it almost down to the $50k mark after the US taxpayer chipped in the EV bribe) so Elon Musk could, quite reasonably, claim Tesla had delivered.

Concept Car of the Week: Honda J-VX (1997)

Fri, 29 Aug 2014

In 1997, in an effort to preserve its sporty image, Honda needed to bring new exciting models in its showrooms, to park alongside its mainstream Civics and the excellent but slow-selling NSX. The 1995 Integra Type-R proved a fun car to drive but lacked in personality compared to older models of the brand such as the bold CR-X. At the Tokyo motor show, Honda unveiled a prototype of what could be the sports car of the 21st century while also capturing the essence of the iconic CR-X.
