2013 BMW 5 Series Facelift – Saloon, Touring & GT

Sun, 19 May 2013

Facelift for the 2013 BMW 5 Series We knew the next BMW News would be the arrival of a facelift for the 5 Series, especially after BMW accidentally previewed it with a configurator that went online too early. But now the 5 Series facelift is here, and what it lacks in real changes BMW has made up for in photos – they’ve sent us over 200 photos of the new 5 Series – Saloon, Touring and GT – maybe in the hope that a mass of photos will make us think the changes are extensive. Porsche Cayenne (2011) undisguised

Sun, 10 Jan 2010

The Porsche Cayenne 2010 / 2011 undisguised is ready for a launch at Geneva in March We’ve seen spy shots of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne on a pretty regular basis over the last year as Porsche works to fettle the new Cayenne before a launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March. But with that debut looming we now see shots of the new Porsche Cayenne out and about all but undisguised. Porsche are attempting to address criticisms of the current Cayenne by making the new Cayenne a much more road-focused car and by shedding weight from what is, by any standards, a heavyweight SUV.

Video: Michael Mauer on the 991-series Porsche 911

Tue, 08 May 2012

Porsche has released a video featuring its Design Director, Michael Mauer, explaining how he and his team went about redesigning the 911, an ‘automotive, engineering icon' as he describes it. "What we as designers are striving to above all is to optimize the width to height ratio with the result that although the 911's width has not increased, the front axle area has become wider, and we've managed to make the roof a bit lower," Mauer explains via a rather dramatic-sounding voiceover.
