Customer Testimonial

Anyone who is interested in detailing a car, cares about their car. They are willing to spend the money and time to make their baby unique. Who in their right mind would ever think of installing any material that is not built for automotive application!? I have seen china brands all over the web pretending to sell automotive grade vinyl, I have seen it peel, discolor and ruin paint after a couple weeks!. There is a disconnect with info between what you can use and what you can't. I have been working with 3M, Avery and Hexis for almost 17 years. I have to say, I am shocked and surprised how easy and cost effective the VVIVID8 line is. It is great to see a product that I haven't used in the past work so well. My installation times are cut in half, I can apply and forget, I know nothing will peel (including the paint). The warranty is standard but the colors and choice you offer are incredible. To be able to slide and reposition the vinyl so easily and secure its placement with heat and curing time is genius. I will be buying more and if you like, you may use this letter as a quote for your new VVIVID8 line!

Every material VViViD Vinyl offers is either a CAST or Polymeric material.
Cast vinyl is stable when applied to a surface. It harbours no tension, whereas calendared vinyl harbours up to 25%. Calendared vinyl is made by processing a mass of vinyl through rollers and stretching it over hundreds of feet. Therefore when applied to a curved surface such as a car, calendared vinyl will shrink back causing curling, peeling and cracking.
In contrast, VViViD's cast vinyl starts off as a liquid and is poured onto a sheet and baked. This means the cast was never stretched to begin with and will stay in place for the life of the vinyl. When cast vinyl is accidentally creased or stretched, you can heat it and it will return to its original form without creases or stretch marks.
Polymeric offers the same advantage. It has been heated/treated and pre-stretched allowing for a cast-like application.

Ford Model T climbs Ben Nevis: Ford Heritage Images

Wed, 05 Jan 2011

Ford Model T climbs Ben Nevis in 1911 (click for full size image) When the good Mr Clarkson decided Top Gear should do a piece about a Land Rover Discovery using its incredible off-road abilities to climb a mountain in Scotland we were all astonished that – despite a couple of hiccups on the way – he managed to get one of Land Rover’s finest up a mountain where cars were never designed to go. What’s even more astonishing is that Ford managed to do the same 100 years go, but they used a standard Model T and choose Britain’s tallest mountain – Ben Nevis – for the stunt. The 20 horsepower Model T was driven up Ben Nevis as a publicity stunt for Ford’s agent in Edinburgh.

BMW wins engine of year

Wed, 09 May 2007

By Ben Whitworth Motor Industry 09 May 2007 05:51 BMW’s twin turbo 3.0-litre engine – the mighty 306bhp straight six from the 335i - has taken top honours at the 2007 International Engine of the Year Awards, the engineering equivalent of the Oscars. This is an unprecedented third year in a row that BMW has clinched the title of International Engine of the Year Award – in 2006 it was the M6’s V10 that took the title, and the M5’s V10 claimed gold in 2005. Other winners, judged by the panel of 62 motoring journalists from 30 countries across the globe, included Porsche for its biturbo 3.6-litre flat six (unbelievably, the first time Zuffenhausen has won an IEYA award), Toyota for the Prius’ 1.5-litre hybrid unit, and Volkswagen’s TSI twincharger 1.4-litre unit.

Peugeot 308 CC (2008): first photos

Fri, 11 Jul 2008

By Tim Pollard First Official Pictures 11 July 2008 09:26 Peugeot – the pioneer of folding hard tops – today unveils the new 308 CC. It's not a radical coupe cabriolet, but it's a gentle evolution of the 307 CC blueprint: a four-seater family hatch turned convertible. The French company invented the first production opening metal roof back in the 1930s, after a few coachbuilders toyed with low-volume concepts, and then brought them to the mainstream with the 206 CC in 2001. The new 308 CC follows the same formula with a metal roof that somersaults into its loadbed in 20 seconds to leave a completely flat (if long) rear deck.Gobbling boot space as it goes?Naturally, the  boot shrinks when the roof is lowered, dipping from 465 litres to 266 when it's stowed.
