Saab sale to National Electric Vehicle Sweden confirmed
Wed, 13 Jun 2012The sale of a substantial portion of Saab assets to National Electric Vehicle Sweden has been confirmed. It’s taken a very long time, but Saab has finally found a new home in the hands of National Electric Vehicle Sweden, as we reported last week. National Electric Vehicles Sweden has been set up to take over the assets of Saab and is a consortium of Japanese, Swedish and Chinese stakeholders, but it does not get the contentious Saab 9-5 technology that has dogged the sale of Saab so far.

Thu, 14 Aug 2014Once again, Car Design News and General Motors are holding an Interactive Design Competition.There are five design briefs to choose from, each set by GM's design teams, and you're invited to submit your entry on the competition website: http://www.cardesigncontest.com/ The fourth of our briefs comes from GMC, GM's truck-and-utility-only brand, and asks you to design of the interior or exterior of a GMC show car to be revealed at the 2030 North American International Auto Show. Your design should focus on a future interpretation of GMC's ‘industrial sculpture' design philosophy. You'll need to bear in mind who the customer for this truck or utility vehicle is, and consider what is the purpose and application of the vehicle.
'Porsche By Design' exhibition charts Porsche design history
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Some of Porsche's rarest and most iconic cars will be showcased at the North Carolina Museum of Art's new exhibition, ‘Porsche by Design: Seducing Speed'. The collection, which consists of 22 cars dating back to 1938, is designed to explore the history and development of the Porsche lineup up until the present day. Amongst the models are a 1938 Type 64 Berlin-Rom racer, a 1963 Type 901 Prototype, 1969 Type 917 16-Cylinder Spyder Prototype and a 2010 Type 911 Sport Classic Carrera.
