Subaru XV gets a price cut – down by £1300 on 1.6 litre versions
Sat, 18 May 2013It wasn’t a bad starting point for an able mid-sized crossover – a high-riding Impreza, in all but name – but it wasn’t the cheapest offering in the class. But now, with the Yen being a bit kinder to Japanese car makers, Subaru has decided to nudge the price a bit lower to start the XV range off below £20k for the first time. The price drop for the XV only applies to the 1.6 litre petrol versions, but you can now get the entry-level XV 1.6i S for a more affordable £19,995 rising to £23,415 for the XV 1.6i SE with the Lineartronic gearbox, reductions across the range of £1300.
New BMW M video tease. Is this the BMW X6 M50d?
Fri, 02 Dec 2011Is this a tease for the BMW X6 M50d? BMW has released a teaser video for a new M model X6, which we’re assuming is the X6 with the new three stage turbo diesel – perhaps the BMW X6 M50d? We’ve recently had confirmation that BMW are going to create a diesel version of the M5 – the M550d – and we expected BMW to use the same engine to create diesel M versions for the X5 and X6.
Drivers believe potholes 'are out of control'
Thu, 17 Apr 2014MOST DRIVERS (67%) think the pothole problem in the UK is getting out of control and the government and councils are not doing enough to solve the problem. Research by the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) has found 65% of female drivers and 69% of male drivers are very unhappy with the condition of the UK’s roads. The IAM cites a lack of communication between councils and drivers for this situation as a third (34% ) of drivers believe councils are reducing the amount they spend on road maintenance but 60% of drivers admit they don’t know if budgets are genuinely being cut.
