1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider fetches €5,040,000 in Monaco sale
Mon, 14 May 20121957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider - sold for €5 million
R M Auctions Monaco sale at the weekend achieved sales of €33.5 million with a 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider reaching €5,040,000.
Last month we reported on a very rare and very appealing 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider being listed at R M Auctions Monaco sale, which took place this weekend, the first time on sale for 30 years. It sold for a not insignificant €5,040,000.
Significant though that sale was, it was dwarfed by the sale total of €33.5 million R M achieved in Monaco from a total of more than 90 high-end cars, 100 Ducati motorcycles and three boats.
Other impressive sale included the 1952 Ferrari 225 Sport Spyder ‘Tuboscocca’ which sold for €2,520,000 – a record for a 22 S – a 1966 Ferrari 206 S Dino Spyder which sold for €1,008,000 and a Ferrari F1-2000 Racing Car, once raced by Michael Schumacher, which hit €806,400. In total ten lots beat €1 million and four lots exceeded €2 million.
Despite claims that many recent auctions are hitting low sales numbers, R M managed to shift 87 per cent of the lots up for auction over the two days in Monaco.
A good weekend’s work by Max and the team.
