Mon, 13 Dec 2010

The 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR made its international debut on Dec. 11 at the Porsche R&D center in Weissach, Germany.

The 4.0-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine has a new engine-management system, modified air-intake housing and redesigned exhaust system. The engine creates 455 hp, 5 hp more than its predecessor.

The 911 GT3 RSR also includes aero modifications, including a new front lip to increase downforce. The German automaker increased the size of the front wheels from 11 inches to 12 inches for better grip and less understeer.

The transmission, suspension, brakes and electronic are unchanged.

Porsche has also made the 2011 upgrades available in kits for the 2010 911 GT3 RSR models.

The 2011 911 GT3 RSR will cost approximately $542,500, not including taxes or shipping fees.
