2012 BMW M5 UK photos, video & price

BMW spilled the beans on the 2012 M5 back in June, so we already knew it would cost £73,040 when it went on sale in November in the UK.

But now November is here, BMW UK has decided – quite sensibly – that now’s as good a time as any to remind us of the fact and to send over a bunch of new photos of the M5 and a new M5 video.

Apart from a set of UK-specific photos and video of the new M5, we also get reminded just how appealing a prospect the new M5 is.

It gets 552bhp from its new 4.4 litre twin-turbo V8, driving the back wheels through a seven-speed dual clutch ‘box. It gets servotronic steering and adjustable dampers, power is up by 10 per cent and it’ll crack 62mph in 4.4 seconds.

We also get a look at the options on the new M5 – and their prices. Want a nice set of Silverstone Merino Leather ? That’ll set you back £5,440. M-Multi Function Seats in the front? Add £875. At the lower end of the cost spectrum you can have High Beam Assist for £130 or Internet access for £95.

So you may set off at £73k for your nice new M5, but it will take a chunk of willpower – and a disregard for resale values – not to end up spending the wrong side of £80k. Oh, well.
