2012 Ford Focus ST: Paris Motor Show 2010
Fri, 01 Oct 2010The 2012 Ford Focus ST gets an early showing at Paris
Yes, it may be at least a year before the 2012 Ford Focus ST launches, but that’s not going to stop Ford shouting about it. And what better place to shout than in the place the car world is centred on for the next week or two – the Paris Motor Show.
But really, there’s not that much new to say. Ford are busy telling us that this is Ford making good on its promise to deliver a global performance version of the 2011 Focus. Which unfortunately means that Ford may be using their get-out-of-jail-free card on the 2012 Focus RS.
Still, that may mean – from a purely selfish perspective – only we (Europe) get it. I can live with that. But what of the ST?Well, it uses 20% less fuel and emits 20% less Co2 despite an increase of 10% in power and torque. It gets a new colour option – Tangerine Scream – and it has ‘lowered chassis and unique suspension tuning to deliver acclaimed ST handling agility and poise’. It also gets a 250PS version of Ford’s EcoBoost. And that’s about it for now.
Of coures, Ford has plenty to say, although it condenses down to what’s here. Still, we’ve put up the 2012 Ford Focus ST Paris Press Release for your delight and delectation.
And if you’re in the States, this may be as good as the new Ford Focus gets.
