2012 Honda Crosstour lineup gets a four-cylinder

Thu, 22 Dec 2011

Honda has added a four-cylinder engine to its Crosstour wagon for 2012. The Crosstour will now be available with a 2.4-liter engine in addition to the V6 with which it debuted.

Fuel economy goes up with the new engine to 21 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway. That's about a 10 percent increase. Power is rated at 192 hp. The optional 3.5-liter V6 still makes 271 hp and returns 18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway.

Two-wheel drive is standard on the Crosstour. All-wheel drive is an option on Crosstours that have the V6.

New standard features for 2012 include an automatic-dimming rearview mirror, backup camera on non-navigation models, automatic headlights, Bluetooth and a USB audio input. Those options will join the moonroof, 360-watt audio system and steering-wheel controls on the base Crosstour.

The EX-L trim adds leather and heated seats, dual-zone climate control, power tilt mirrors, a premium audio system and XM radio, among other things. Navigation is also optional.

The Crosstour, which will be built at Honda's East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio, comes with a full array of safety features. The ACE body structure helps protect drivers in frontal collisions. Stability control, antilock brakes, airbags and rollover sensors are all standard.
