2012 Hyundai i30 Estate: The i30 Wagon arrives
Thu, 23 Feb 2012The 2012 Hyundai i30 Estate arrives at Geneva 2012
The 2012 Hyundai i30 Wagon – the i30 Estate – has been revealed ahead of a debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
With the new Hyundai i30 only just making its way in to the world, Hyundai are wasting no time extending the i30 range, so we’ll be getting the public debut of the 2012 Hyundai i30 Estate at the Geneva Motor Show next month. And it looks a good effort.
The new i30 has already received praise and plaudits from most, and the i30 Estate builds on that start. The i30 grows by 185mm in the estate which, Hyundai say, makes it one of the most commodious estates in the sector. And they’ve managed to bolt the box on the back of the i30 without losing any of the stylishness of the regular i30.
As is the fashion for modern estates, the i30 estate is more of a swoopy estate than a boxy one, despite which it still manages to swallow 1,642 litres, which is enough for – well, a decent amount of stuff. There’s a swage line running the full length of the i30 rising to the rear lights. The back screen wraps round the D-Pillars and the decent size tailgate opens to bumper level.
The Hyundai i30 Wagon will get the same engine and gearbox options as the new i30, which means everything from the i30 Classic 1.4 100PS Estate to the i30 Style Nav 1.6 CRDi 110PS auto Estate – a total of three diesel engines, three petrol engines and four trim levels.
Hyundai hasn’t revealed detailed specs or prices for the new i3o Estate, but expect prices to start the right side of £16k
