2012 Lexus RX 450h Facelift leaks
Sun, 12 Feb 2012The new Lexus RX 450h with F Sport options
A facelift for the 2012 Lexus RX 450h has been leaked from scans of a JDM brochure. The 2012 RX 450h gets the new Lexus grill and F Sport options.
We quite like the Lexus RX 450h, even though it would be a better car with a proper engine and a proper gearbox. But it certainly deserves its place as an eco SUV (if that’s not an oxymoron in eco-warrior terms), and when we had the RX 450h in for review a year or so ago we were actually sorry to see it go after a week.
But the RX 450h has been around in its current guise since 2009, and it’s time for a refresh – a nip and tuck for 2012. And that nip and tuck for the Lexus RX has leaked on to the interwebs with a scan of the JDM brochure for the 2012 RX 450h.
Key to the changes for 2012 appear to be the adoption of the new Lexus grill we’ve seen on cars like the new Lexus GS and the Lexus LF-Lc concept. The regular RX gets the low-fat grill we’ve seen on the more prosaic new GS models, but the offering of the F Sport Pack on the 2012 RX means you get the far more impressive F Sport grill you can see in the picture above.
Other changes to the RX 450h (and other RX models in other markets like the RX 350 and RX 270) include new headlights with LED running lights, new front bumper, new tail lights and new alloys. Inside the 2012 RX gets a freshen up for the trim and high-end options like rear-seat entertainment.
It looks likely the 2012 Lexus RX 450h facelift could debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
