The 2012 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG has been revealed in Barcelona alongside Mercedes new MGP W03 F1 car for 2012.
It’s a day ahead of where we expected, but the 2012 Mercedes SL 63 AMG has made an appearance in Barcelona in the pit lane alongside the reveal of the 2012 Mercedes F1 MGP W03 car.
Everything you get in the new 2012 Mercedes SL arrives in the SL63 AMG, but in spades. Power comes from the twin-turbo 5.5 litre V8 we’ve seen proliferating across the Mercedes AMG range of late, which in the case of the SL63 AMG means 529bhp. despite that, Mercedes say the new SL63 is up to 30 per cent more fuel efficient than the old SL63.
As you’d expect, the SL63 gets a butch makeover from the more prosaic 2012 SLs, with a big, deep front bumper, new grill, bigger sills, rear spoiler and a new back bumper with integral diffuser. There are also ‘Bi-Turbo’ badges on the sides.
This is just an unexpected teaser of the 2012 SL63 AMG, with the main detail scheduled to arrive tomorrow, with a public debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
More then.
