2012 Nissan 370Z Facelift – if you look really closely

Tue, 07 Feb 2012

The 2012 Nissan 370Z gets a mild tweak - debuts at the Chicago Motor Show

The Nissan 370Z is getting a facelift for 2012 – which will debut this week at the Chicago Motor Show – but it’s not extensive.

All the car buzz at the moment – at least around new models – is about the Geneva Motor Show in March. Which might explain why the 2012 Nizzan 370Z facelift is getting paraded on a much quieter stage at the Chicago Motor Show. Because we’re struggling to see what exactly Nissan has done to the 370Z for 2012.

But look closely and you can see that there’s a new set of LED running lights, and the grill looks a bit different. The 19″ alloys for the Sports Package are a new design, as are the standard 18″ alloys.

There are a set of red brake callipers (but again, only if you opt for the Sport Package) and two new colour options - Magma Red and Midnight Blue. Oh, and there shocks are ‘Euro Tuned’ and there’s a red reflector at the back.

If we need a clue that Nissan hasn’t exactly pushed the boat out on the 370Z, perhaps the fact that they consider it important to tell us that the fuel gauge now has a dark finish on their eight bullet points of change in the press release.

Considering the changes cosmetically are so small, you won’t be shocked to learn that there are no power changes, with the 323bhp, 3.7 litre V6 with a choice of speed manual or 7-speed auto ‘box.

The changes to the 2012 Nissan 370Z apply to both the Coupe and Roadster, and to the 370Z Nismo – which we don’t get.
