2013 Citroen C4 Picasso: First photos & details
Tue, 02 Apr 2013The new 2013 Citroen C4 Picasso has been revealed ahead of going on sale in the summer. It’s lighter, bigger and more frugal than the old C4 Picasso.
Built on the same EMPS2 platform from PSA that will be used on the new Peugeot 308, the new C4 Picasso sheds weight by using aluminium for the bonnet, alloy components, a composite rear floor and tailgate to make the new C4 Picasso 140kg lighter than the old Picasso.
The new C4 Picasso is also smaller than the old model, yet offers more room. It’s actually a bit shorter, but wider, so looks far more purposeful and, although it’s 40mm shorter thanks to shorter overhangs, the wheelbase is actually 55mm longer than the old model so there’s more space to play in.
The C4 Picasso has also gone all tech with a 7″ touchscreen for the Infotainment (which also runs the SatNav and AirCon) and a customisable 12″ HD screen for driver information.
Nice touches include Park Assist and 360 Vision, Active Cruise, Auto High beam, panoramic windscreen with glass roof and a Lounge Pack which includes massage seats, ‘Relax’ headrests and a ‘Relax’ front passenger seat which lets your passenger ‘sprawl’, sliding back seats and a front passengers eat that folds flat for when you have long loads.

Engines on offer in the new C4 will be just 3 diesels (although more will be announced) with a 1.4 litre 89bhp and a pair of 1.6 litres with either 114bhp or 148bhp, with the 89bhp e-HDI 90 promising emissions of just 98g/km and 74mpg when fitted with Citroen’s clutchless six-speed manual gearbox.
The new 2013 Citroen C4 Picasso goes on sale in the summer with prices expected to start around £20k.
