2013 Dacia Sandero Revealed
Tue, 18 Sep 2012The new 2013 Dacia Sandero 2 – a Fiesta sized budget offering – has been revealed ahead of a public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
Yesterday we had news of Renault’s cut-price Dacia Logan – which may come to the UK – and today we get news of the Dacia Sandero 2 – beloved by James May – which will debut at Paris at the end of the month and is definitely heading for the UK.
The Sandero has been a big-seller throughout Europe for years but now, with the launch of the Sandero 2, Dacia has decided the time is right to make their budget supermini available in the UK alongside the new Dacia Duster SUV.
Despite budget prices – expected to start at under £7,000 – the Sandero gets an OK spec as long as you don’t opt for the entry-level, headline price cars (which just get four wheels and a steering wheel) with top-end Sanderos getting stuff like alloy wheels, trip computer, fogs and body coloured bumpers.
But the Dacia Sandero experience is not about frills it’s about back to basics motoring, so if you want niceties like super-connectivity and leather and Climate and all the things that make everyday motoring bearable, think again before considering the Sandero.
But if the entry price for a new car is the over-riding factor, then the Sandero – and its butch counterpart, the Sandero Stepway – could be worth considering.
The new Dacia Sandero will debut at the 2012 Paris Motor SHow this month before going on sale in the UK in early 2013.
