On Wednesday we told you about the Mazda MX-5 GT concept that will be featured at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. On Thursday, Ford announced that its new Mustang Shelby GT500 will be taking a turn on the famous hillclimb circuit as well.
Goodwood will be the GT500's first appearance outside of the United States. Like the MX-5 GT, the GT500 will charge up the hill in the hands of professional racing drivers.
Powered by a 5.8-liter supercharged V8, the GT500 can reach a top speed of more than 200 mph, courtesy of 662 hp and 631 lb-ft of torque. The GT500 also features user-adjustable launch control.
The car appearing at Goodwood will have the optional Performance package with electronically adjustable dampers and a limited-slip differential.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed runs June 29 through July 1.
