2013 Hyundai Santa Fe revealed
Sun, 11 Mar 20122013 Hyundai Santa Fe arrives on Twitter
The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe – the car we thought would be the Hyundai ix45 – has been revealed ahead of a debut at the New York Motor Show in April.
If there’s a design hole in the Hyundai range – the one car Hyundai hasn’t bashed with its ‘Fluidic Stick’ – it’s the Santa Fe. But that looks set to change at next month’s New York Motor Show with the reveal of the 2013 Santa Fe.
Ahead of that reveal Hyundai US has posted a couple of photos of the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe on its Twitter feed in the early hours of this morning. And it’s finally been hit with the Fluidic Stick to bring it up to date.
Actually, Hyundai USA are calling the new design ‘Storm Edge’ and say its an evolution of the Fluidic Sculpture we’ve seen proliferate across the Hyundai range in recent years, not that we can quite see a huge difference. Hyundai say the Santa Fe has ‘…family hexagonal grille with wider bumpers, creating a futuristic and urban-style look’.
What Hyundai do say (and we’ve got Hyundai UK out of bed to check!) is that the much vaunted ix45 moniker won’t be used on the new car and it will remain the Santa Fe around the globe. So say goodbye to the ix45 idea.
No news on engines, price or time-scale, but we’ll update when we have more.
