The 2013 Kia Sorento facelift has been revealed ahead of a debut at the New York Motor Show in April.
Ahead of a public debut at the New York Motor Show in April, Kia has revealed a facelift for the Sorento crossover / SUV, although it’s not exactly comprehensive.
Top of the noticeable stuff on the new Sorento is the adoption of the latest Kia signature grill, with a reddeigned front bumper and tweaks to the air intakes and fogs. Inside the new Sorento is said to get higher quality materials – losing some hard plastics in the process, we hope – and extra equipment.
So far we only have details of the North American spec Sorento which gets extra equipment across its range – LX, EX and SX – whether with the 2.4 litre four-pot or the 3.5 litre V6.
In the UK the trim levels are different, as are the engines with just a 2.0 litre and 2.2 litre diesel on offer. But it’s reasonable to assume that the cosmetic tweaks will carry over to the UK Sorento – namely a new nose and better interior trim – and equipment levels will improve.
We expect to hear from Kia UK on the changes expected for the UK and European Sorento before long, and we’ll update then.
