2013 Mazda6 Estate: Official
Wed, 05 Sep 2012Mazda has revealed the Mazda6 Estate ahead of its public debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show alongside the new Mazda 6 saloon.
Last week saw the reveal of the new Mazda6 ahead of its public debut in Paris, and we knew that Mazda were planning to unveil the Estate version of the Mazda 6 at Paris too after they revealed it in Japan last month. And here it is.
And as estate cars go, the Mazda6 Estate (or Mazda6 Wagon, just so our colonial readers don’t get confused) is a bit of a looker. Actually, it’s every bit as good looking as the saloon version, and that’s very good looking.
It’s a swoopy estate, so it’s not going to be able to carry that big brown wardrobe you stupidly bought at the Antiques Fair, but it will have plenty of room for family ‘stuff’ and shopping. No doubt Mazda will enlighten us at Paris about exactly what it can lug around.
But Mazda has confirmed the Mazda6 Estate will get SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel engine in two flavours and also be available with SKYACTIV-G 2.0 petrol engine. Not that there was any doubt.
A full reveal, and we assume all the dimensions and load-lugging info, will arrive by the time we get to Paris, but just like the Mazda6 saloon, the new estate looks a cracker.
The Mazda6 has always deserved to sell better than it does. Let’s hope car buyers give the new Mazda6 and Estate serious consideration. It looks like it deserves it.
