2013 Mercedes E63 AMG revealed in new E Class family photo
Wed, 09 Jan 2013Mercedes has revealed the new E63 AMG in an official photo of the 2013 E Class family ahead of a Detroit Auto Show debut.
We’ve already had the reveal of the facelift for the Mercedes E Class Saloon and Estate in December, followed by news earlier this month on the new E-Class Coupe and Convertible. But one facelift for the 2013 Mercedes E Class range was missing – the facelift for the mighty E63 AMG.
Although Mercedes hasn’t revealed the 2013 E63 AMG officially, it has managed to reveal it anyway in an official photo accompanying a press release on the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Leading the pack round a banked track in the photo is clearly the 2013 Mercedes E63 AMG (click the photo above for a bigger version of the E63 AMG), flanked by a new E Class saloon with an E Class Estate, Coupe and a convertible following behind. The family is complete.
Just like the rest of the 2013 E Class range, the new E63 AMG gets the (quite) extensive sheet metal changes and the new single headlights, and we’re also expecting Mercedes to reveal they’ve extracted a few more horses from the E63′s 5.5 litre V8 to match the more than 550bhp in the BMW M5 and Jaguar XFR-S.
All four versions of the 2013 Mercedes E Class – plus the E63 AMG – will debut next week at the Detroit Auto Show before going on sale in the UK – first the saloon and Estate E-Class followed by the Coupe and Cabriolet – although we may have to wait until the autumn before the new Mercedes E63 AMG actually finds its way in to Mercedes UK showrooms.
