2013 SEAT Leon price revealed: Paris 2012
Sat, 29 Sep 2012SEAT has revealed prices for their version of the VW Golf – the new SEAT Leon – at the Paris Motor Show. Starts at £15,670.
SEAT has been a bit more daring with their take on the new VW Golf and Audi A3 (the SEAT Leon is based on the same VW MQB platform as its Volkswagen Group siblings) with a sporty statement nose and interesting creases running down the side.
SEAT has taken the reveal of the new Leon in Paris to announce it will get an entry-level price if £15,670, undercutting the new Golf by a nice chunk in the process, for the Leon S with the 1.2 TSI engine rising to £22,635 for the Leon FR 2.0 TDI with the DSG ‘box.
Not only are prices for the 2013 Leon decent enough, so is the spec with AirCon, Bluetooth, colour touchscreen, halogen headlights and MP3 compatible CD, plus stuff like seven airbags, ESC, Brake Assist and traction control included even on the entry-level Leon S.
Move up to the Leon SE and SEAT throws in ambient interior lighting, leather steering wheel and gear knob, chrome detailing in the cabin, cornering front fogs, Cruise, 16″ alloys, Hill Hold and XDS electronic diff.
The sporty Leon – the Leon FR – comes with 17″ alloys, butch bumpers, privacy glass, sports seats, dual zone Climate, LED tail lights, Sports Suspension and SEAT Drive Profile.
Drive Profile is a bit like Alfa’s DNA in that it alters the feel of the steering, changes throttle sensitivity and, if you’ve opted for the DSG ‘box, tweaks the shift pattern for when getting a hustle on is an imperative.
Engines on offer in the new Leon start with the 1.2 TSI with 105PS and around 58mpg (S and SE trim), 1.4 TSI with around 54mpg (SE and FR), 1.8 TSI with around 47mpg (FR), 1.6 TDI with around 74mpg (S, and SE), 2.0 TDI with around 69mpg (SE and FR) and the 184PS version of the 2.0 TDI with around 66mpg which is only available on the FR.
Order books for the 2013 SEAT Leon open on 1st October with first UK deliveries in March 2013.
