2014 Dodge Durango starts at $30,790

The seven-passenger 2014 Dodge Durango will start at $30,790 when it arrives on dealership lots next month. That’s the same price as last year, but buyers will get a little bit more. Standard features now include an eight-speed automatic transmission with steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, Uconnect Bluetooth, a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, 7-inch customizable gauge cluster and signature Dodge brand LED racetrack taillights.

Five trims will be offered consisting of the base SXT, Rallye, Limited, R/T and Citadel, which tops out at $41,990, including destination.

The same two engines will be offered. The first, a 3.6-liter 290-hp V6 will be standard on all but the R/T trim. That model gets the 5.7-liter 360-hp Hemi.

Towing is rated at 7,400 pounds with the V8, while the best mileage (25 mpg highway) can be had with the V6. Dodge says the most-efficient Durango can travel 600 miles on a single tank; doing the math means Durango owners will be looking at a roughly 24-gallon fill-up.

Stepping up from the SXT to the Rallye trim, buyers get the sporty cues from the R/T model, dual exhaust, 20-inch wheels, body-color grille and a few other odds and ends. The Limited model adds daytime running lights, 18-inch polished aluminum wheels, leather seats, heated steering wheel and more. The Hemi is optional.

The R/T comes standard with the V8, which makes use of cylinder deactivation, 20-inch wheels, performance tires, a premium sound system and HID headlights. Other upgrades, built off the content of the Limited mode include dual exhaust, body-color grille, black headlight bezels, wheel flares and sill moldings.

The Citadel trim includes all the options on the lower models and adds napa leather, ventilated seats, a bigger touchscreen, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels and a handful of other luxury options.
