2014 Honda Crosstour priced at $28,210

The 2014 Honda Crosstour goes on sale Wednesday with an MSRP of $28,210, including destination. That'll buy you a two-wheel drive EX version. The topped out, four-wheel drive EX-L V6 with Navi will set buyers back $38,070.
While we're not the biggest fans of the styling of the Accord-based crossover, we did find its utility pleasing over longer trips. One of our testers carried five adults and gear to a ski trip a few years ago. Cargo space is rated at 51.3 cubic feet.
Engine choices remain the same for 2014. The base models get 2.4-liter four banger making 192 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed automatic transmission sends power to the front or all of the wheels. The upper echelon trims get Honda's smooth 3.5-liter V6 that makes 278 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque.
Standard features on the Crosstour EX include automatic air conditioning, a 360-watt audio system with seven speakers, Bluetooth, a USB audio interface, steering wheel-mounted cruise, audio and phone controls, an auto day/night dimming rearview mirror, an easy fold-down 60-40 split rear seatback, a hidden removable utility box and reversible floor panels.
Upgraded models can be specified with leather seats, tilting mirrors and an upgraded radio and navigation, among other things.
The Crosstour uses 50 percent high-strength steel in its body structure and has a four-wheel independent suspension with a double wishbone front and multilink rear. Front and rear stabilizer bars and a front strut tower brace are also added for rigidity.
Safety features include Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Vehicle Stability Assist and airbags all around.
