2014 Kia Cadenza priced at $35,900

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

The 2014 Kia Cadenza sedan will cost $35,900, including shipping charges, when it goes on sale later this month.

Kia's new flagship sedan is offered in one trim level, though it’s also available with luxury and technology packages.

Standard Cadenza features include an updated navigation system with the brand's in-house UVO eServices telematics system, an 8-inch touchscreen, with a standard back-up camera and back-up warning system, an Infinity 12-speaker audio system, leather seat trim with heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry with push-button start, a 10-way power adjustable driver's seat and Bluetooth wireless technology.

The luxury trim is $38,900 and adds a full-length panoramic sunroof with power retractable sunshade, HID headlamps with an adaptive front lighting system, 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, napa leather seats, 12-way ventilated driver's seat with a seat bottom extension, heated steering wheel with power tilt and telescoping steering column, rear heated seats and a rear power sunshade.

The top-of-the-line technology package increases the price to $41,900, and adds 19-inch alloy wheels, electric parking brake, smart cruise control that can completely stop the vehicle and will tag along with the car in front in stop-and-go traffic, water-repellant front side windows, blind-spot detection with lane-change assist and a lane-departure warning system.

The Cadenza is offered with only one powertrain: a 3.3-liter V6 engine that puts out 293 hp at 6,400 rpm and 255 lb-ft at 5,200 rpm. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission with standard paddle shifters.

The pricing puts the Cadenza slightly above its Hyundai Azera counterpart, which carries a $33,145 base price after shipping charges.
