The Kia Sportage is Kia’s best-selling model in the UK, and Kia are keen to keep things that way so they’ve given the Sportage a bit of a tweak for 2014. The changes are quite modest – just enough to mark this Sportage as a 2014 model – with a new version of the ‘Tiger Nose’ grill with added chrome and restyled mesh, better back lights, new 16-18″ alloys and LED tail lights on the top-end models.
The interior has been given a bit of a lift too with new soft touch trim on the doors, nano paint finish on the dashboard and centre console, heated steering wheel and electric driver’s seat on top-end models and repositioned audio tweeters for better sound.
A 4.2″ TFT LCD screen has also been fitted between the dials to deliver stuff like trip info, gearshift indicator (on manual models) and Parallel Park Assist functionality (when fitted).
Higher-end models get a 4.3″ screen with rear-view camera and SatNav versions get a 7″ screen with European mapping and an Infinity Premium Audio system arrives on the Sportage for the first time.
Engine options on the Sportage stay the same for 2014, but availability has been widened with the arrival of a 4WD version of the entry-level Sportage with the 2.0 litre CRDi engine, and you can now have the 1.7 litre CRDi engine in top-end spec.
The 2014 Kia Sportage is now available to order – with prices from £17,495 to £29,495 – with first UK deliveries in February.
