2014 Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition debuts at Detroit auto show
Tue, 14 Jan 2014
Amid the high-tech and highfalutin premieres at the Detroit auto show, it was refreshing to see the 2014 Ram 1500 Mossy Oak Edition. The truck returned to Ram's lineup after a one-year absence, and we got to see it firsthand on the floor of Cobo Hall. Designed for hunting and fishing fans, the Mossy Oak edition is meant for truck lovers who spend a lot of time outdoors.
Ram has partnered up with the Mississippi-based outdoor apparel and camouflage company before, and on the 2014 model, the bedcaps and the tailgate are covered in Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity camouflage pattern, which also appears on the lower cladding. The pattern is also featured on the center column of the Ram's instrument panel and door panel inserts, while an embroidered Mossy Oak logo is applied to the headrests.
The truck has been updated for 2014, and will now be available with the RamBox cargo management system for the first time. The Ram 1500 is, of course, available with a 6-foot, 4-inch bed, as well as a 5-foot, 7-inch bed, though the Mossy Oak edition will be available exclusively as a Ram 1500 4x4 Crew Cab. The truck itself is based on the Ram Outdoorsman.
Buyers will be able to opt for black, Black Gold Pear, and Prairie Pearl exterior colors, with a choice of Canyon Brown and Frost Beige interiors. Espresso Tuscany-colored Katzkin leather seats with Mossy Oak seatback embroidery will also be available on this truck.
"The Ram Truck brand has been a great partner to Mossy Oak," said Ronnie "Cuz" Strickland, executive vice president of Mossy Oak. "The people there love trucks, but they're also into hunting and fishing and understand that their customers are, too. To have Ram take that relationship to the next level by offering a special Mossy Oak Edition speaks volumes about their commitment to hunters and Outdoorsmen and women, and we are extremely proud to partner with them."
Expect the Ram 1500 Mossy Oak to arrive in dealerships early this year, with prices starting at $41,180.
