2015 Ford Mustang spotted testing in Detroit
Thu, 31 Oct 2013
The 2015 Ford Mustang is nearing production. The proof is on Detroit's Woodward Avenue, where one of our readers spotted this mule in full camouflage. Upcoming cars usually don't hit the well-traveled strip of asphalt unless they're almost ready for the public.
Others have reported that the Mustang's styling will be evolutionary, with minor changes to the general shape and size. Those who were hoping for a futuristic take on the pony car will probably be disappointed.
No one, on the other hand, will be disappointed about the engine selection, as it looks to be the best triple threat since Neil Patrick Harris. According to reports, the legendary 5.0 returns, as does the lighter 3.7-liter V6. A turbo four-pot will be on the option sheet too.
The new platform for the muscle car is named S550. It will feature independent rear-suspension for the first time on a non-SVT model, and will lose about 200 pounds.
We expect to see the new Mustang by the end of this year.
