2015 Scion FR-S gets upgraded handling, small price bump

Fri, 16 May 2014

Scion only has two cars that could be considered anything close to sporty: the FR-S and the tC. Both received light upgrades for 2015, and a slight price bump.

The 2015 Scion FR-S gets better handling through a more rigid front suspension and retuning of the rear shock absorbers. Scion says the improved damping results in less body roll (there wasn't very much anyway) and “a more communicative driving experience.”

A shark fin antenna replaces the standard mast; the exhaust tips are larger and more flush with the rear bumper. Inside, Scion added automatic headlights, updated interior accents with carbon fiber and a new key design.

Steel replaces argento as Scion's silver color, and whiteout, a pearl color, is available for $395 extra.

The 2015 FR-S will cost $25,655 with a six-speed manual. That's $200 more than last year. The automatic version with rev matching software starts at $26,755 including destination.

As for the Scion tC, the 2015 model with the automatic gets paddle shifters and rev matching. Two additional colors are offered: Cosmic gray replaces classic silver and super white is replaced by blizzard pearl, for a $395 charge.

The manual-equipped 2015 tC coupe costs $19,965; the auto starts at $21,115 including destination.
