Alfa Romeo 4C: Tease begins ahead of Geneva 2013 debut
Thu, 27 Dec 2012Alfa Romeo has begun the tease for the production version of the Alfa 4C – calling it the ‘Car to end all cars’. Geneva 2013 debut planned.
The first tease from Alfa for the 4C – which is a ‘Car to end all cars’, according to Alfa – has now arrived and, although it doesn’t mention the 4C by name, it’s clear it’s the 4C that’s being trailed.
Expected to look just like the 4C concept we saw at Geneva 2011 (and Frankfurt 2011 too), we reported a year ago that the Alfa 4C would arrive in 2013, and that now seems a certainty with the tease game starting up.
With stunning Alfa looks, a carbon fibre tub (designed by Dallara), front and rear frames made of aluminium and a skin made from SMC (a lightweight glass reinforced plastic) the 4C promises to be light and nimble, so despite a modest 230bhp (or so) from its 1750cc turbo 4-pot we should see performance under 5 seconds to 62mph.
With a debut at the 20913 Geneva Motor Show, the Alfa Romeo 4C is expected to go on sale in the summer priced from around £45k.
